Everyone is split evenly. If the total does not divide, StillOwe says exactly who takes the extra cent. There is a daily limit on how many bills one person can start, so this cannot be used to flood people.

StillOwe sends at most four reminders for a share, around day 3, 7, 14 and 30. They get further apart, never closer. Who gets each one depends on who is waiting: the person who owes, or you if they never open their link or say they have paid. Anyone can stop theirs in one tap, and saying an amount is wrong stops them immediately and for good.

StillOwe stores the names you type, the amounts, and any email you add. The links are stored hashed, not as the URL itself. Who agreed, who said they paid, and who disputed stay with the bill. A bill stays readable for 90 days, then it closes. The record is kept so an old link still opens; reminders have already stopped. Opting out removes that address from every bill that named it, and from any bill started later. StillOwe keeps it only on a silence list so it is never emailed again. Names, amounts, and the settlement record stay.
